What the finder is really asking
The three questions are not a quiz for its own sake. The first one — where the dish goes — decides almost everything, because it is a proxy for how permanent the install is and whether you are willing to make a hole. The model question only matters at the edges, since the Standard and Mini share the same pipe thread. The roof question only appears when the answer is "roof", because a flat membrane and a shingle pitch want completely different treatment.
Where the logic lands on something other than the obvious answer — a flat roof, for instance — it says so. On a flat roof the roof mount is not the right answer: there is nothing to fix to in the way a pitched roof offers, and a wall bracket or a freestanding stand avoids the penetration entirely.

Common questions
How does the Mount Finder work?
Three questions: where you are installing, which dish you have, and - for a roof - what the roof is made of. It maps those to one of four mounts and tells you why, plus the guide that goes with it.
Is the recommendation always a product?
No, and that is deliberate. If your dish already has clear sky with nothing blocking it, the honest answer is that you may not need a mount at all.
What if my answer is not on the list?
Email us with a photo of the site and the dish model. We would rather answer one awkward question than send you the wrong bracket.
Does the tool need my data?
No. It runs entirely in your browser - nothing is sent, stored or tracked beyond a page view.
Which dish models are covered?
Standard (Gen 3 / V3 / Standard 4) and Mini. The Gen 2 and original Gen 1 dishes use different fittings and are not covered - see the compatibility page.
